Our Service Providers

The Lodestar Day Resource Center is essentially a cooperative of social service agencies; we try to provide as many resources as possible in one location. The following providers offer services within our building:

CASS Employment: is comprised of two departments: Job Development (JDS) and Temporary Employment (TES). JDS assists CASS clients in their pursuit of permanent employment by providing application, resume and interview assistance, fax, phone and computer access, haircut, tools, clothing, and a job readiness class. TES assists all LDRC clients in finding temporary and/or temporary to permanent work.

Community Bridges: Offers an outpatient program for clients that are interested in sobriety. CB refers and arranges transportation to off-Campus locations for crisis care, and refers to many halfway houses or treatment centers. CB offers group support and individual counseling at the LDRC.

Department of Economic Security: Provides eligibility/enrollment services for government benefits such as AHCCCS, food stamps, and general assistance, offers information for clients with questions about benefits, and provides follow up for clients who have difficulty with enrollment.

Ecumenical Chaplaincy for the Homeless (ECH): Helps clients to obtain identification (e.g., Arizona ID’s, birth certificates, marriage licenses, W-2’s, drivers license, etc.). ECH also offers telephone books, bus schedules, and periodically provides water bottles, hygiene kits and socks, and free Bibles. ECH can help with family reconnection, counseling is offered for substance abuse, job search, other life issues, and referrals are made for rehab programs, food/housing sources, medical assistance, etc.

Health Care for the Homeless: Operates a medical clinic on the Human Services Campus. HCH has a case manager/physician team who provide services at the LDRC approximately 10 hours per month.

Magellan: Connects clients with counseling, psychiatric, and substance abuse treatment. Provides homeless outreach and engagement within the facility, and assists clients in connecting with resources within the community, and assists those already enrolled in the behavioral health system in reconnecting with their clinical teams.

Maricopa County Probation: Adult Education provides a computer lab for professional use, computer literacy training, GED tutoring, and life skills classes.

Southwest Behavioral Health Services: At the LDRC, SW conducts intake interviews and provides case-management assistance, help with medication assistance, housing referrals, transportation and moving assistance, and community education. SW also provides outreach off-campus, and connects those in need with services such as those at the LDRC, or helps clients transition into the Magellan case management system. The SW PATH outreach workers seek out those in need all over Maricopa County, in areas such as the streets, river bottom, shelters, desert campsites, parks, & hospitals.

St Joseph The Worker: Provides employment services such as: one-on-one attention from a job developer, phone, computer, and fax access, mailing address, bus tickets to complete applications/interviews, discounted monthly bus passes once employment is secured, résumé development, professional clothing, hygiene products, haircut referrals, work boots/tools, and any other resources necessary to acquire and maintain employment. St. Joseph also offers a Job/Life skills course, practice interviews, and a follow-up program.

Veterans Affairs: Healthcare for Homeless Veterans Program (HCHV) provides outreach to homeless veterans in need of mental health/medical services and assists those veterans in linking to resources to attain their highest level of independent living.
